As if we needed more evidence that the FDA is doing a poor job of protecting US citizens from harm. This week the state of Minnesota banned the use of Mercury in cosmetics sold in the state. Something that should have occurred at the Federal Level about 50 years ago! Apparently, in the United States it's A-okay for cosmetic companies to put the lethally toxic substances in cosmetics that millions of American women use everyday.
This news comes on the heels of a ban put into place by the EU on Mercury and Lead in cosmetics that occurred earlier in the week. One thing is for certain, many women may have chronically been exposed to neurotoxic and carcinogenic substances as part of their daily routine.
If you use cosmetics everyday like many women you are directly at risk of the harmful side effects of these toxins. Take some time to do something about this! Call your representatives, write a letter, and help raise awareness. For more information about safe cosmetic companies and how you can help improve cosmetic safety go to: www.safecosmetics.org/
