CHIROPRACTIC PEDIATRICS
We are proud to say that we treat children in this office.
Why should I have my child adjusted?
This is one question we often hear. The short answer is because it will help your child live a healthier and happier life. It will make them more resistant to infection and free them from pain.
Many people think children don't hurt because they can't verbalize their pain. Little ones tell us in other ways. They don't eat for us, they don't sleep well, they seem "fussy," or they seem to constantly dealing with a health problem or getting sick.
Have you noticed your child not feeling like themselves? Does he or she seem to cry more or have trouble turning his or her head to one side, but not the other. Is their ability to crawl, walk, or use their hands impaired. This can all result from an irritated nerve. Spinal misalignments can wreak havoc on a child's delicate nervous system and make it difficult for their body to function normally.
Birth Trauma
Whether you realize it or not, at one time your child's neck and spine had a significant amount of force placed on it. With enough trauma anyone's spine can become misaligned. Birth can be harder on little ones than it is on the mother.
Think about it, first, the child's head is crammed into the opening of the Cervix and Birth Canal. Then a midwife or doctor then pulls on the child's head and neck with as much force as 40 lbs. of pressure per square inch! Then finally, the child's head, neck, and shoulders are torqued on to clear his or her shoulder from the mother's pelvis.
This produces three different kinds of forces on your infant's spine: Axial-Compressive, Tension, and Torque Forces. Trauma can and does happen under these forces! If the cord is wrapped around the ichild's neck, a vacuum extraction device is used, or Caesarian Section is performed, the possibility of trauma to the infant's spine increases. C-sections are often harder on the baby than a normal delivery.
Because children lack the language ability to tell you they hurt, most adults assume they don't. Maybe your child isn't fussy or collicky. Maybe there's a reason they can't turn their head or cry when they do so. Maybe there is a reason he or she is getting all those ear infections or getting sick all the time. Maybe their genetic potential is being limited by a lack neural input by bony structures within their spine impinging those delicate, little nerve structures that relay vital information to-and-from the brain.
Maybe now is the time to have your child evaluated to see if something is limiting their development and stopping them from reaching their full genetic potential.
Call our office today to have your child evaluated. We can use the Insight Spinal Scan to show you exactly where the inflammation and injury is occurring in his or her spine.
